Spirit of Merseyside

The Spirit of Merseyside Winter Appeal aims to raise funds and awareness of the combined effects of winter on individuals who may be more vulnerable than most, especially due to natural disasters, fuel poverty and loneliness.

The Spirit of Merseyside Winter Appeal is a channel by which the Community Foundation for Merseyside collects donations from the public and “recycled” winter fuel payments from those who do not think they need it and would like to donate their allowance and know that it is helping  someone who is genuinely in need.

Over the last  five years, the Community Foundation for Merseyside has raised over £20,000, giving out grants to vulnerable elderly people and community groups across Merseyside.

Merseyside is one of the most generous areas in the country and we hope many people will support the Appeal to demonstrate their spirit of Merseyside to support those less fortunate this winter.
