JOB OPPORTUNITY

Northwood Together Community Organiser  

Initial 2 Year Contract with the possibility of extension subject to funding and the needs of the programme. Full-time (37 hours per week), flexible hours.

Home-Start Knowsley on behalf of the Northwood Together Big Local Partnership is inviting applications for the post of Northwood Together Community Organiser and Support Worker. This post is integral to the strategic operations of the Partnership to achieve their shared vision for the Northwood Together Big Local Area. 

Northwood Together is a 10 year community programme (with 7 years left to run and funded by Big Lottery) which gives local people a chance to make a difference in their neighbourhood by raising aspirations, creating opportunities, and enriching lives. This Big Local programme is bringing £1M of Big Lottery funding to Northwood for residents to make it a better place.

The post holder will be expected to take the lead on all aspects of the grass roots operational management of the Big Local Programme in Northwood. 

The ideal candidate is someone who:

• Can engage with a wide range of people to identify their aspirations and needs, and enthuse and support them in creating solutions funded by Northwood Together Big Local.
• Can use a variety of techniques to raise awareness of Northwood Together’s Big Local projects. 
• Has proven programme and project management skills on a variety of different initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
• Has experience of supporting a resident led Board to ensure good governance.
• Is self-motivated, able to work alone and as part of a team, with a can-do attitude in the face of challenges.
• Is flexible, and prepared to work daytime, evenings and weekends (when required)
