Community Foundation Enhances Website

Community Foundation for Merseyside has launched a new look website after the first stage of a web development project.

The website supports the work undertaken by Community Foundation for Merseyside to enhance both on-line and traditional marketing activity.

Marketing and Communications Officer, Joe Wilson, said: "As a charity, we have a diverse audience who want to know things from how to donate and how to support community groups to what grants are available and where they can go for other support. Our initial aim is to meet these needs."

Joe explained how the charity sector was learning from the private and public sectors. He pointed out that many other charities have used the internet not just to inform potential funders and beneficiaries but to increase donations and interact with donors and clients.

He added: "Beyond the launch of the site we want to use the site to increase donations, increase participation in community activity, celebrate the work of communities and our partners and ensure as many people can use the site as possible."

The next stage of the website project will begin immediately to improve accessibility and to integrate customer care. This will include using online polls to assess need in the community, developing e-bulletins to celebrate success, creating themed mini-sites to help raise funds online and offering donors extra on-line services.

The site has been designed by Balance Advertising and Design, and constructed by Co-Create.
